About Grassroots Environmental Education

Grassroots is a New York-based non-profit organization founded in 2000 by Doug and Patti Wood.  Our programs are based on science, and our network of environmental experts includes leaders in the fields of environmental toxicology and medicine from Yale, Columbia, Harvard, Tufts and New York Universities, U.C. Berkeley, Mount Sinai School of Medicine and other similar institutions.

We strive to educate the public about environmental health issues in communities across the country by developing professional materials and inclusive programs that bridge the gap between scientific research and public understanding.

The work of Grassroots is made possible primarily through generous donations from individuals whose lives have been touched by our programs. Additional support has come from the Park Foundation, the Westchester and Long Island Community Foundations, the Leto Foundation, the Jonas Philanthropies and the Flow Fund.

You can make an online donation to Grassroots by clicking on the donate button below and using our secure donation process (tax deductible donations are handled by PayPal) or if you have a specific program you'd like to support, please call our office.
