Philosophy meets reality every Saturday morning during the growing season at the Port Washington Organic Farmers' Market where Grassroots is based. The market, founded and managed by Grassroots, is the only 100% organic farmers' market in New York State. Farmers from the East End of Long Island bring truckloads of fresh vegetables, local bakers offer fantastic breads and cakes, and organic coffee (with organic milk and sucanat), hot organic blueberry muffins, eggs, goat cheese and honey are popular with market regulars.

The Dodge Family Farm is a historic landmark in Port Washington, and over the past five years we have cultivated and managed a small organic farm where we grow vegetables for the local food bank and for the farmers' market. We are grateful to our friends at Whole Foods Market for their help in getting started in the spring and cleaning up in the fall, and for our local high school and college volunteers who keep the farm looking great all season!
