programs: the childsafe school advocate

ChildSafe Advocate Profile

You're concerned about the health and safety of your children. You understand that toxins in the environment can be harmful to kids. And you want to do something positive to help improve the quality of environments at schools in your community.

ChildSafe Advocates act as community coordinators for the ChildSafe School program, enlisting support of other parents in the community, using our documentary films and printed materials to educate the public about environmental health issues, meeting with administrators and school board members, and ultimately shepherding protective policies through the approval process.

Being a ChildeSafe Advocate requires a little time, energy, enthusiasm and perseverance, as well as organizational and communication skills. The reward is knowing that the children in your schools – and all the children who will attend those schools in the future – will be protected from known environmental toxins.

We suggest you get acquainted with our program before deciding whether to become a ChildSafe Advocate. You can order copies of the Resource Guide here. If you decide this is something you'd like to do, please contact our office for more details.
